Clean from
the first cell.
Plantera Bio is a tissue culture laboratory producing pathogen-free, genetically verified plantlets for licensed cannabis cultivators, coffee growers, and agricultural producers across Puerto Rico and the Caribbean.
Your genetics are degrading. Your clones are infected.
Traditional vegetative cloning passes pathogens from mother to daughter, accumulating disease load with every generation. Hop Latent Viroid alone costs the U.S. cannabis industry billions annually. Tissue culture is the only proven method to break the cycle.

From mother plant to shipped plantlet
Every plantlet goes through five stages with pathogen testing at intake and before shipment.
All pathogen testing by ClearSight Labs PR, our sister diagnostic lab. Genetic verification and chain-of-custody included with every order.
Not just cannabis. Food security.
The same tissue culture infrastructure that produces clean cannabis genetics serves Puerto Rico’s most critical agricultural crops—and we’re scaling globally. Puerto Rico imports 85% of its food. We’re building the propagation infrastructure to change that.
Coffee
Disease-free, high-yield varietals for the post-Hurricane Maria replanting effort and beyond. TC-propagated coffee plants establish faster, yield earlier, and resist Coffee Leaf Rust and CBD.
- Arabica & specialty varietals (Caturra, Geisha, Bourbon)
- Rust-resistant rootstock propagation
- Partnership with PR Coffee Institute & UPR
- Export-ready with phytosanitary certification
Plantain & Banana
Clean suckers free of nematodes, Black Sigatoka, and Fusarium Wilt TR4. PR’s #2 and #3 crops by farmgate value. Critical for Caribbean food security and export markets.
- Maricongo, Gran Nain, FHIA-21 & resistant cultivars
- Nematode & Fusarium TR4 free
- Volume production for commercial farms
- Cold-chain shipping for international delivery
Avocado & Specialty
Premium rootstock propagation for PR’s growing export avocado industry. Plus emerging programs in cacao, yam, taro, ornamentals, and tropical fruit.
- Hass, Semil 34, Lula & tropical rootstock
- Phytophthora-resistant rootstock selection
- Cacao, yam, taro & ornamental programs
- Custom propagation contracts available
From Puerto Rico to the world
Puerto Rico’s strategic position—U.S. jurisdiction, tropical climate, direct shipping lanes to the Americas, Caribbean, and Europe—makes it the ideal base for international plant propagation and export.
Phytosanitary certificates for every export shipment. Full regulatory compliance.
Temperature-controlled packaging and expedited logistics for live plant material.
No customs. No import permits. Direct D2C via NextDay Clones™
Caribbean, Central & South America, Europe. Export-ready phytosanitary prep included.
Three divisions. One pipeline.
Testing, tissue culture, and environmental services—structurally separated, operationally linked.
The Referral Engine: ClearSight Labs screens cultivators and identifies pathogen-positive operations. Those operators need clean replacement genetics—Plantera Bio provides the solution. ClearSight Labs re-tests to confirm. Three divisions, one platform—test, propagate, and monitor with chain-of-custody at every step.
Built by operators, not observers
Plantera Bio is upstream infrastructure—not a grower, not a retailer. We serve every licensed cultivator without competitive conflict. Our team brings decades of combined experience in regulated cannabis operations, biochemistry, laboratory science, and commercial cultivation.

Common questions
Our standard minimum is 500 plantlets per cultivar. For smaller runs or pilot programs, reach out—we can often accommodate smaller batches depending on our production schedule.
From intake to delivery, expect 8–12 weeks for clean stock production. This includes pathogen clearing, meristem culture, multiplication cycles, rooting, and hardening. Subscription clients get priority scheduling with standing monthly deliveries.
Yes. You ship us your mother material—we handle the rest. Our intake process includes full pathogen screening through ClearSight Labs before any tissue enters our clean room. We can also work with cuttings if mothers aren’t available.
Our standard panel covers 12+ pathogens including Hop Latent Viroid (HLVd), Tobacco Mosaic Virus (TMV), Cannabis Cryptic Virus, Lettuce Chlorosis Virus, and multiple fungal and bacterial targets. Testing is performed by our sister lab, ClearSight Labs PR.
Yes. We prepare export-ready shipments with phytosanitary certificates. For U.S. mainland direct-to-consumer clone delivery, see NextDay Clones™, our D2C brand. International shipping available on a case-by-case basis.
We cryopreserve your genetics at −196°C in liquid nitrogen with redundant monitoring and automated alerts. Full chain-of-custody documentation. You can request genetic recovery at any time—we’ll revive and multiply from cryo storage.
Absolutely. Our agricultural biotech program covers coffee, plantain, banana, avocado, cacao, and specialty tropical crops. Same tissue culture infrastructure, same pathogen-free standards. We’re actively partnering with UPR, the PR Coffee Institute, and USDA’s Tropical Agriculture Research Station.
